FATALIS (In the name of god, my Father I'll fly), 2024. One-channel loop, 10'20'', (video excerpt)
The video describes the tale of a drone that wanted to get close to the sun. The title relates to the belief in a predestined future, to the unescapable, predetermined order of occurrences. Mizrahi drew her inspiration from the mythological story of Icarus, and his tragic, inevitable end. Mizrahi joined a drone flight instructor and exact sciences students at Tel Aviv University in an attempt to re-examine the ending of the mythological tale. In her work, the drone that wanted to fly too close to the sun was faced by a force just as strong: CAAI - Civil Aviation Authority of Israel.
